Women Are Starting Businesses at Nearly Twice the Rate of Men, But Few Ever Reach $1 Million

Leadership strategist Kami Guildner opens registration for the 12th Annual Extraordinary Women IGNITE Conference, helping women entrepreneurs scale with purpose and impact.

Denver, CO, USA – July 16, 2026 – Women-owned businesses are growing at nearly twice the rate of businesses owned by men, yet the vast majority never reach their full financial potential. While women now own more than 15.7 million businesses in the United States, representing over 40% of all businesses, fewer than 2% generate more than $1 million in annual revenue.

Leadership strategist, business coach, and founder of the Extraordinary Women Ignite Conference, Kami Guildner, believes that statistic isn’t simply about business strategy; it’s about visibility, confidence, community, and creating businesses designed to scale.

Now in its 12th year, the IGNITE Conference has officially opened registration for its November 5-7, 2026 event, bringing together women entrepreneurs from across the country to strengthen their leadership, amplify their voices, and intentionally build businesses that create meaningful impact.

“Women are launching businesses at extraordinary rates, but too many remain stuck trying to do everything alone,” said Guildner. “My mission is to help one million women raise their voices, expand their visibility, and build businesses that not only support their families but create lasting change in the world.”

According to the 2025 Impact of Women-Owned Businesses report by Wells Fargo, women-owned businesses grew by 12.1% between 2022 and 2025, nearly double the 6.3% growth rate of businesses owned by men.

Yet while women are launching and growing businesses at an unprecedented pace, scaling remains a significant challenge. Approximately 9 out of 10 women-owned businesses generate less than $100,000 in annual revenue, only about 12% surpass six figures, roughly 3% exceed $500,000, and fewer than 2% generate more than $1 million in annual sales.

Ironically, that small percentage of million-dollar companies generates the majority of all revenue produced by women-owned businesses, demonstrating the extraordinary economic impact of helping more women successfully scale.

Guildner has spent the past 17 years coaching purpose-driven women entrepreneurs and has hosted the Extraordinary Women Ignite Conference for more than a decade. The annual event has become a destination for women who are committed to building profitable businesses without sacrificing authenticity, purpose, or personal fulfillment.

This year’s conference will feature an accomplished lineup of speakers and thought leaders dedicated to helping attendees increase their visibility, strengthen their leadership, develop sustainable growth strategies, and enter the new year with renewed clarity and momentum.

“The women I work with aren’t simply trying to make more money,” Guildner said. “They’re creating movements, serving communities, and solving important problems. When more women build thriving businesses, everyone benefits.”

Registration is now open, giving entrepreneurs several months to secure their place before the November event.
