Douglas R. Carlile grew up in the Chicago suburbs and entered the Army at the age of 20. During his military career, he earned several accomplishments, including Soldier of the Year for fiscal year 2001 and NCO of the Year for fiscal year 2010. He also served as an AIT Instructor and completed Air Assault, Combatives Level 1, Basic Leaders Course, and Advanced Leaders Course. Throughout his service, Carlile took pride in leading soldiers and striving to represent the best qualities of leadership.
