MINNEAPOLIS, MN, UNITED STATES – June 25, 2026 – Minneapolis-based Americana artist Randall Webb has released the single “Pittsburgh,” marking the solo recording debut of a journeyman singer and guitarist best known for his band the Front Porch Swingin’ Liquor Pigs. Webb is a standard-bearer in the Minneapolis/St. Paul acoustic music scene. The solo turn “Pittsburgh” is a moody scheme that highlights the ruminative vibes that Webb’s vocals bring to a world-weary tune. “Pittsburgh” is now available on most major streaming platforms.

As co-founder of the Front Porch Swingin’ Liquor Pigs, Webb has been key in establishing the band as an institution in the legendary music scene of the “West Bank” neighborhood in Minneapolis, carrying on for more than 25 years. Formed in 1999, the band captured a dedicated fan base through a years-long residency at the Viking Bar. They released their debut album in 2000, Forget Your Truffles and Dance, followed by two more studio releases (2004’s Half Cocked and Fully Loaded and 2005’s Last Album.) Their hard-charging, fast picking take on roots music placed them among the “Darlings of the West Bank.” Often seen collaborating with luminaries like members of Koerner, Ray & Glover, the Liquor Pigs were among the last of the acoustic holdouts before venues such as The Viking, Palmer’s Bar, and the 400 Bar shuttered their operations.

Randall Webb’s musical journey extends back to the 1970s and his band Son of Stone. Randall was arrested on stage during their first gig on a possibly trumped-up possession charge, setting in motion a musical career that has been colorful and Quixotic. Webb was an original member of the innovative Minneapolis band Sweet Taste of Africa. His many other projects have included the pop-rock cover band Candy and the folky/bluesy Summit Stunt Pilots.

About “Pittsburgh”

“Pittsburgh” was written by long-time Webb collaborator Pat Courtemanche. Webb and Courtemanche have performed together as members of the band Candy, busked on street corners in Paris, and bombarded a stage in Nashville. Courtemanche also contributes guitar and keyboards to the track.

The drummer is Nashville ace Harry C. Wilkinson, Jr., known for his work with Larry Coryell, Terri Gibbs, David Alan Coe, Richard Harris, Lobo, and especially Michael Martin Murphey on the classic album Blue Sky – Night Thunder and the smash hit single “Wildfire.” Wilkinson spent thirteen years on the Grand Ole Opry with the group The 4 Guys.

On flute is Polly Henderson, a classical musician based in Minneapolis.
