Jyothi Ranga Patri, MD, MHA, FAAFP is a leading primary care physician who dedicates herself to the pursuits of wellness, research and compassion. She specializes in family medicine, offers evidence-based medicine, and quality care tailored towards individual needs. With over a decade of experience having served in different demographics across cultures and continents, Dr. Patri inspires her patients to lead a healthy life and find great joy.

Born and raised in a family of three girls, priority was always given to education. Both parents are Postgraduates (Master of Arts) and grandfather is a retired Dean of Government Degree College, Rajahmundry, AP, India.

Dr. Patri’s journey started in a humble middle-class background with her two sisters. They often faced challenges in a society, where females were always competing hard for equal rights whether it be for education or social equality. However, she drew great inspiration from her parents and converted every challenge into an opportunity. Her greatest gift is to chase her dreams and evolve on her own terms. When she aced the highly competitive entrance test to medical school and became the first– generation doctor in the family, it was a moment of pride for her parents.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from one of the finest medical schools in India named after the Father of the Nation, Gandhi Medical College. Dr. Patri’s early medical training at Gandhi Hospital, Hyderabad started with serving the poorest population. Her inquisitiveness towards health care delivery systems in developed countries landed her at Midwestern State University, Texas where she went on to study Master of Health Administration and graduated with honors. She pursued Family Medicine as her profession with great passion and excelled at every step of career winning love and earning respect from her patients, teachers and peers. Earned the respect of everyone she worked with during her residency at Universities of Oklahoma, and Illinois.

In addition, she is dynamically involved in evaluation of scientific, academic and professional work by her peers.

Outside of work, Dr. Patri continues to be involved with community through activities such as advocacy of health-related issues, physician leadership, and community service. She serves as the currently Interim President of California Academy of Family Physicians (CAFP) Fresno-Kings-Madera Chapter. For a person who was raised in a family of three girls, Dr. Patri always wanted to move forwards, open new doors and do new things, because curiosity keeps leading her to new paths. As a student of science, a physician, an educator, a wife and a mother, Dr. Patri feels a happy mind and a healthy body is a gateway towards harmonious society.
