Little Thinker Adventures was a nineteen-episode series on cassette tapes, released in the 1970s. They were very popular among children, for about a decade, before ending in the 1980s. Nonetheless, these audio stories still continue to be loved by the children of today which is why, Jim Ettwein, grandfather to five kids is reviving it in a contemporary version. He created the Little Thinker Adventures project on Kickstarter to revamp the incredible series from the ’70s. Despite the fact that people are now surrounded by screens, audio playlists in the form of ‘podcasts’ have made a comeback. This is why this new project is using the same magic of podcasts to ignite the imaginations of children and make education and creativity more accessible and fun.

Through this Kickstarter, the project owners wish to bring a new title, with fresh talent, to a new generation of children. They are all set to take children on a beautiful journey of storytelling, via audio stories. “We have been providing these adventures to a new generation for the past ten years. We are delighted that the Little Thinker stories continue to inspire audiences all around the world – today! Feedback from our customers has been phenomenal”, says Jim Ettwein, the project owner and a retired management consultant, author, app developer and grandfather of five kids. All his family including his son, daughter, and grandkids grew up listening to Little Thinker Adventures.

In order to make Little Thinker Adventures available again, Ettwein has converted them to digital format. Each adventure is an hour-long dramatized story, presenting a unique topic, and adventure journey like exploring the sea, desert, space, etc. As each adventure progresses, there is a natural pause, every ten minutes or so, to allow young listeners to draw a picture of what they imagine is happening. The purpose was (and is) to encourage active listening and creative drawing.

The success of the Kickstarter campaign will ensure that a brand-new episode is successfully created. The new adventure story, “Think About the Garden” will tell an entirely new story, with upgraded sound technology, new talent, and original music.
